We’ve had many inquires over the past few days regarding donations for the Quarantine Backyard Ultra on April 4, 2020. Specifically, many have wondered about using this event as an opportunity to raise money for various charities, or provide an opportunity for people to donate to Personal Peak directly.
We would like you to know that we appreciate the enormous outpouring of support, and although we love the idea of collecting donations, we must go back to our Mission and Values as a company to find our official position on this matter.
At Personal Peak, our number one mission is to support athletes. It is the reason behind everything that we do. With the Quarantine Backyard Ultra, our goal is to support athletes in three primary ways:
1) Provide a racing opportunity for athletes that had races cancelled
3) Provide opportunities for elite multi-day and ultramarathon athletes to showcase their talents, and thank their sponsors on the live YouTube elite feed.
As this is our mission, it becomes easy to see the role donations have in the event, and that is this: Personal Peak supports athletes and as such, we fully support any athlete that wishes to use the Quarantine Backyard Ultra as a fundraising opportunity. We, as a company, will do everything we can to support you in whatever way you choose to use this opportunity to reach your goals, whether those be athletic, fundraising, or otherwise.
We encourage any participants or viewers who would like to donate, to either donate to a participant, or to donate to a cause that is meaningful to you.
Thank you all for participating in this event!
