Audio-Guided Runs growing in popularity
Popularity of virtual training plans and coaching has grown with the inability to meet with groups, or coaches in person.
If you want to check out an alternative to these apps, check out Personal Peak’s Virtual Run Group. You get a live coach, and a whole group of other runners in your ear to guide you through each interval session. More doping bans, as Athletes miss scheduled tests
Alex Korio (one of the pacers from INEOS 1:59) and Deajah Stevens were both handed doping bans by WADA this week, for missing 3 consecutive tests within 1 year. Stevens claimed to have phone problems for one test, and had to change her number for another with both resulting in missing out of competition tests, while Korio did not provide an explanation for his 3 missed tests. Both Athletes will miss the Tokyo Olympics in August 2021.
This is always an unfortunate circumstance, however being available and willing to comply with doping testing is part of being a professional athlete. With WADA’s 3 strikes rule, after 1 or 2 missed tests, if they have nothing to hide athletes should be on red alert for when their next test happens, and missing 3 in a row undermines the ability to test and find evidence of doping, so bans are handed out.
Francesca Muccini wins Vol State 500k overall.
She set the women’s course record of 3 days, 10 hours, 49 minutes and 40 seconds in the process, and won overall, closely beating out Bob Hearn who finished just over an hour behind.

The last time a national level track meet was not held in the USA was back in 1876 when Ulysses S. Grant was president, and the USA was made up of only 37 states.
