Ethopian Runner Etaferahu Wodaj handed 12 year ban for doping violation

After finishing 8th at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in October 2019, Etaferahu Wodaj tested positive for EPO and Testosterone, resulting in a 12 year ban from sport.
Most doping bans are for 2-4 years… how do you get a 12 year ban for doping?
4 year ban for positive test, and 8 year ban for tampering with evidence and 

 

There was a Spartan Race with 1000 participants in Florida? How did they pull it off? 

Pre race temperature check
Participants were encouraged to wear masks (not many did)
Hand sanitizer after each obstacle
Many obstacles had separate lanes, with 6 foot spacing
High contact obstacles, were removed, and others modified

 

Fargo North Dakota Marathon announces it is going ahead with it’s race in August.

The 2019 race had 10,000 participants. They have not announced details of safety measures that will be in place, but assuming it goes ahead, it is likely going to be the first large race to happen this summer.

 

Western States 2019 Sprint Finish

Ginger runner released a fantastic short film documenting the Women’s race at the 2019 Western States 100, which came down to a sprint finish between 5th and 6th place Camelia Mayfield and Kaytlyn Gerbin.

 

Coree Woltering broke the Ice age Trail FKT

He ran the 1846km trail in 21 days, 13 hours and 35 minutes breaking the previous record by only 5 hours!

 

Accident during HOTS

Ultra Runner Kim McCoy was hit by a car while running the Last annual Heart of the South Race (HOTS), a 547km race on roads from Arkansas and Georgia organized by Gary “Laz Lake” Cantrell, creator of the Barkley Marathons.
